Beaver County Humane Society to launch fundraising campaign for new shelter
The Beaver County Humane Society is about $500,000 shy of being able to start work on its new Center Township shelter — and officials there are hoping its new public campaign will put it over the top.
Delbert Lemmon, the humane society’s associate director and the leader of a capital campaign to raise money for the shelter, said the group has donations and pledges totaling about $1.3 million as it kicks off its “Gimme Shelter” fundraiser, a public campaign aimed at bringing in enough money to allow work at its Brodhead Road site to begin.
