School Fundraisers Suggestions For All Grade Levels

Elementary schools, middle schools, junior high schools, and high schools all need money so that they can operate their various programs and activities. This is why the schools frequently have school fundraisers in which the student body participates. The purpose of school fundraisers is to raise cash through donations, sales, or charity.

In order for a fundraiser to work, it needs to be well organized and planned. The results of the fundraiser will depend on the number of supporters and volunteers, the amount of time devoted to it, and the people who are heading up the event. However, the most critical part of fundraising is coming up with fundraising ideas.

There are a wide variety of fundraisers for students to be a part of. There are charitable fundraisers where all the proceeds are donated to a local or national charity and there are school specific fundraisers where the proceeds go directly to the school’s various activities and programs.

One popular fundraiser is the school bake sale. These are very common for all grade levels. Many people can take part in the school bake sale, including members from the Parent Teacher Association (PTA), parents who are not members of the PTA, students, and interested community members. Participants supply dozens of baked goods like cupcakes, brownies, cookies, pies, and cakes to the sale and each piece is sold for a profit. Bake sales can bring in a ton of money since there are no costs associated with them to the school.

Pizza and ice cream fundraisers are very popular too. The Parent Teacher Association as well as students can turn this into a very profitable fundraiser when the planning is done correctly. Student organizations like the Student Body Government or National Honor Society often hold these types of sales after school. Several five dollar gallons of ice cream or a few large pizzas can become very profitable when sold for reasonable prices.

Another good way to make money is to hold a raffle. Schools hold raffles all of the time, usually for big items like televisions or vacations, which are often utilized by anyone in the community. It is important to ensure that the raffle is planned by a group that plans well and is extremely organized.

Also, the cost of the prize should not be greater than how much money is raised in the raffle. Make sure that the prize is of good quality and value so that people will be enticed to buy tickets.

School fundraising can be fun along with serving a greater purpose. You’ll want to make the task enjoyable for the students and easy for the customers and participants. In doing this, the school will benefit the most.
