VARIETY – The Children’s Charity to launch Santa Fun Run in spectacular style

Watch out Sydney, Santa is coming early this year and he’s not taking his usual route down the chimney!

Wednesday August 5th 2009 will see the launch of the first Australian VARIETY Santa Fun Run with Santas making a spectacular entrance by abseiling down the Four Seasons Hotel in Sydney to distribute gifts to Variety kids. Platinum sponsor Adrenalin.com.au will be on site to send their intrepid Santas down the building to raise awareness for this important fundraising initiative.

VARIETY – The Children’s Charity - with the proud support of Adrenalin.com.au and in conjunction with the Sydney Christmas Parade, is launching the Sydney Santa Fun Run at the FourSeasons Hotel as part of a national fundraising event to take place November 29th 2009. VARIETY are hoping to encourage 5,000 Sydney-siders to don their Santa suits (5 piece Santa suit included with registration fee) and show their support by hitting the streets and raising money for disabledand disadvantaged children. The first 50 people to register in each state will receive a Adrenalin.com.au gift voucher to help them with their fundraising activities between now and November.

Variety is dedicated to inspiring hope and transforming the lives of Australian children regardless of need, ability or background. People from all walks of life can help deliver hope, joy and independence and experience the satisfaction of helping a child in need by participating in the Santa Fun Run. Funds raised will provide positive and practical outcomes for our children, says David Small, General Manager VARIETY.

Stephen Lewis, General Manager of the Four Seasons Hotel Sydney, has kindly made the hotel available for the launch of the Santa Fun Run. “We have been a long term supporter of Variety, the Children’s Charity and are excited to have this international event come to Sydney!

The first Australian VARIETY Santa Fun Runs will be held in Sydney, Melbourne and Adelaide on November 29th 2009. The Santa Fun Run will take place in prominent places in each state; in Sydney the run will start at the top of George St and finish in Tumbalong Park, Melbourne’s fun run will take place around Albert Park and in Adelaide the Fun Run will be around the Torrens.

Participants will not only raise much needed money to help VARIETY through seeking sponsors from friends and family, but will be in the running to win fantastic prizes. For every $100 participants raise they will go into the draw to win 1st prize British Airways flight for two to London including accommodation (London also hosts the Santa Fun Run!) or they could win $4000 worth of Adrenalin experiences.
