Fund Raising Auctions

Many charities are now using the use of auctions to raise money. Charities have sold everything from guitars to cars and have raised a lot of money doing it. Why not buy a medieval weapon and auction it off for a good cause? You could buy a movie replica and have some of the cast sign it, or you could just buy something that looks great and holds nice novelty value. This article will give you some direction on how to go about purchasing and auctioning off a medieval weapon.

Firstly you will need to purchase a medieval weapon to sell at auction. Between swords, axes, daggers, and flails, you’ll have so many options to choose from. Local hobby shops and Internet retailers are fantastic organizations to buy from. You’ll probably get a much better price if you go ahead and buy your weapon online. You’ll be able to have the weapon shipped directly to your house so you won’t have to worry about transporting it home.

Next you’ll want to decide on a place to auction the medieval weapon off. These can be auctioned off at physical events or through auction web sites like Ebay. You’ll receive a lot of viewers of your online auction, but local interest may increase the amount of money you receive. You also won’t be able to appeal to people’s hearts as well as you may be able to do face to face.

Once you’ve established where you will sell your weapon you will need to decide how much to sell it for. Collectors items such as autographed movie memorabilia will go up in value and you should include this price in your auction. Don’t start your auction price off too low or you may end up losing money on your newly signed medieval fighting sword.

Once you’ve got your medieval weapon, your auction venue, and a fair auction starting price, you can go ahead and start selling. Ensure that you have a good understanding of how you will deliver the item once it is purchased. When a person buys locally you can easily hand the item over to them on site. When the auction is not purchased locally you will need to get some help from UPS, USPS, or Fed-ex to make your delivery.
